Snow eased in most regions and frigid spells tomorrow...watch out for icy roads tonight Updated: 2021-01-18 15:44:35 KST

Snow clouds have moved away the Korean Peninsula and heavy snow alerts have been lifted in most regions.
Let's turn to our Lee Seung-min at the Weather Center.
Seung-min, the snow has let up but temperatures will drop significantly overnight?
Well, Conn-young. Most of the snow has eased off in the capital and northern Gyeonggi-do Province as of 3 PM today. Western parts of the greater Seoul area and parts of Jeollabuk-do Province can expect isolated snowfall of less than 1 centimeter. Parts of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces can expect 3 to 8 centimeters. Most of the snow will let up by late this evening.
However, after the snow lets up, temperatures will drop drastically overnight. The morning in Seoul will begin at minus 13 degrees Celsius.
The daytime will be sunny nationwide but colder than the seasonal norms.
Cold, gusty winds will linger through tomorrow across the nation. In coastal areas and on Jeju Island, strong wind alerts have been issued. Gusty offshore winds are forecast to be as strong as 15 meters per second, so please be aware.
Up until Wednesday, frigid wind chills will make the weather feel much colder than the actual readings, so please bundle up extra warm.
Due to the heavy snowfall this afternoon, roads are much more slippery compared to this morning. Please refrain from driving if possible and try to take public transportations on your way home.
That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
